The client commissioned us to design and fit out an age-friendly healthcare environment prioritizing safety, dignity, and comfort for senior residents. Our objectives included barrier-free circulation, risk reduction, and seamless integration of smart monitoring systems, all while maintaining a calm, welcoming atmosphere. We coordinated closely with facility managers, medical staff, and accessibility consultants to define safety standards, lighting requirements, emergency response protocols, furniture specifications, and project timelines. The strategy emphasized modular layouts, non-slip finishes, rounded-edge furnishings, and smart-device readiness to support independent living.
Design and Material Integration
• Barrier-Free Circulation: Doorways were widened and flooring leveled throughout to facilitate mobility and wheelchair access, with smooth transitions between rooms and common areas.
• Safety-Focused Finishes: Non-slip flooring materials were installed in all high-traffic and wet areas, while furniture featured rounded edges and secure anchoring to prevent accidents.
• Smart Monitoring & Emergency Systems: Concealed wiring and recesses were planned for integrated monitoring devices, emergency call panels, and network hubs, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic clarity.
• Atmospheric Details: Soft, pastel color palettes and consistent, ample lighting—both natural and artificial—were applied across corridors, lounges, and private rooms to create a tranquil, soothing environment.
Material Supply & Intelligent Systems
• Flooring & Furniture: Delivered with pre-verified dimensions and finishes for rapid installation and durability under frequent use.
• Smart Devices: Emergency call units, motion sensors, and integrated monitoring systems were preconfigured for immediate deployment, with conduits and junction boxes discreetly located behind panels to preserve visual harmony.
• Lighting Fixtures: Modular and adjustable, compatible with both manual and automated controls, enhancing safety and circadian comfort.
Installation & Outcome
Installation proceeded in stages: substrate preparation, barrier-free framing, furniture placement, and alignment of smart devices with building services. Systems were commissioned before the final surface closure to avoid post-installation disruption. The completed environment delivers a cohesive, safe, and dignified living experience, with accessible layouts, tactile-friendly materials, and integrated technology that empowers seniors to live independently. Facility staff noted that all components were delivered and installed on schedule, with operational guidance and spare parts provided to ensure ongoing usability and maintenance.
